Hello i'm looking to maybe buying a 89 20 ft proline but it has an omc outboard mounted on its own hybrid bracket the boat has a full transom and the motor is no good can i remove it and install a bracket for my outboard without having to do any other modifications to the transom other than cover the holes of the old ones if they dont match thank in advance this is driving me crazy cause its a great deal unless the transom has. To be redone i have pics of the motor thats on the boat know

What would be a good size bracket to mount a 115 1993 mariner on it i would think 30 in is to long

A 20' V-bottom boat would benefit from about 10" -12" of setback. 15-18" would be getting up there quite a bit.

You can get a good one from iboats via T-H Marine (Atlas), or other places include Bob's Machine Shop and Hydrodynamics.

So, yeah.. you can use your own and fill the old holes. Get a bracket that offers setback and can be height adjusted.

(Edit: the farther back the motor sits, the more stress on the transom, so ensure she is up to the job).
