Dhadly didn't mean to refer that to as dumb question. I had found a previous post on the search and was trying to give a link and something went wrong.
I had to boot out and come all the way back in to re post it and you had already replied. Sorry for the mix up. I would never tell any one a question was dumb.
only dumb question is one that is not asked.
Again I apologize

Its not a dumb question at all. Power trim allows you to adjust the ride or attitude of the boat while underway. Too far in and the boat will plow, causing excessive drag. Too far out and the prop will slip.

Normally you start with the trim in all the way and once on plane adjust it out to achieve the best ride/speed.

Take your boat out and just "play" with it. Youll get the feel real quick.

Good luck!

Not to mention you'll save fuel with a properly trimmed boat...

bubbakat -- I wasnt refering to your post, just when GP was sort of shy about being "Mr Newbie" and kind of hinted about it being a dumb question.

I kind of thought something happened with your post. I went through that once myself. Seems like it always happens at the most inopportune moment.

Funny story about trim --
A buddy of mine bought a brand new flats boat from a guy because he was dissatisfied with performance. My buddy paid like 1/2 price for this thing. Turns out the selling dealer never showed the guy how to run it and the guy knew nothing about the power trim. He was not happy when he found out!
