I was on a delivery of a Yacht from Maine to Connecticut. Was in mid rout in the golf of Maine when I developed engine troubles in this single screw 40 foot vessel.

Requested a tow just off cape code when the oil psi went away and the buzzer got red and loud....

Too rough for see toe, toe boat also could not comply. Yacht owner was member of both.

USCG came out and were the champs. Trust in the US Gov not the privateers.

technically towboats would have charged you for the tow, unless the owner was the captain on board, you as captain was not covered unless you have the commercial coverage. , tow boat doesn't cover the Hudson river at all. sent me to sea tow.

Thats why a knowledge of suck squeeze bang blow is your best asset. I found I have always found a helping hand at the end of each arm.

Well I guess the title of this section is misleading . . . I'm pretty sure it is about Trailers and on-highway, so I am going to move this bizarre thread to boat topics . . .

Sea18, suck-squeeze-bang-blow refers to the four stroke cycle. I am not sure how that knowledge would've solved a no oil pressure issue in the middle of the Atlantic. Maybe enough knowledge to suggest getting on the horn as the only solution . . . Dunno . . .

I feel it is in bad taste to directly mention or diss a supplier, vendor, brand name or trade mark.

that is exactly the point of substitution of the word toe for tow and so on.

I know I am new to this fine forum and have a large set of brass credentials.

I apologize if I came in too hot and left a bit too much wake upon my first approach to the dock.

I hope to camp here for a while, get a few laughs and perhaps add to some of the technical points of interest.

I will throttle back to a safe speed but will attempt to continue to be under way, making way.
