Ok, hello.
I`m trying to write in a language i dont write in so often, so dont kill me.

I have tried to find info about converting my 4-stroke 25hp Tohatsu (its the one with 3 carbs) to 30hp, the threads i have found here are about 2-strokes?

So, how to upgrade to 30hp?

Ok, thanks.
To bad it wasn`t cheaper and easier!
I just wonder why Tohatsu choosed to make 2 setups with carbs, must be expensive...

Does the carbs from some other brand fit?

Actually all brands make multiple hp's out of the same size engine. It costs much less than building single size engines and carburetors are brand specific.

Re: TOHATSU 25 four-stroke...

Is there anything else better with "30hp" carbs except the increase in horsepower, or are they just bigger?

In the sparepart book it?s looks like the only thing that differs between them are the jets, the carbs housing and everything else have the same partnumber.

TOHATSU GURU, it seems that tou are wrong about that i need to buy the whole carburettors (3) to convert from 25 to 30 Hp, like i said before the only difference in the spareparts-list are the jets and link rod (but you can buy one built together that fitts the 30hp, different assembly), i have found a text that confirm my statement:

"This neat 30hp four-stroke packs a lot more punch than its 25hp sister and weighs substantially less than most of its competition, reports Andrew Norton
By fitting larger diameter carburettor jets and slightly raising the Wide Open Throttle rev range to its MFS 25A, Tohatsu Corporation has created a 30hp four-stroke that is, in reality, much more powerful than the additional 4.9hp would suggest."

Obviously English is a second language for you...I'm not wrong about anything.

"$700 worth of carburetors and linkage."

That is 100% correct.

You never asked if the 25 carburetors could be modified to the 30 specification, so I never said anything one way or the other. For the record

Yes, they can and it can be done inexpensively if you have basic mechanical skills.

You could have told me the alternatives when i commented as follows:
"Ok, thanks. To bad it wasn`t cheaper and easier!"

And:

"In the sparepart book it?s looks like the only thing that differs between them are the jets, the carbs housing and everything else have the same partnumber."

So is it right that they use the same carb housing and the only differece is 3 jettings and the link rod?

Let's set some things straight.

1) I have no obligation to answer a question you haven't asked.

2) I have no obligation to answer a question you have asked.

and lastly...

3) I have already answered you in my preceding post.

I'm going to assume your tactless approach IS due to a language barrier.

Ok, thats fine with me and i?m going to assume that you did recomend me to buy stuff, maybe ten times more expensive then necesery because you are salesmen (internetoutboards), or?

You are right about that you are not obliged to answer, but you when you DO i guess people assume that you are rightand present the most suitable reply, but in your role as a salesmen in a forum i guess your answer tend to slide a bit.

It seems that when i called you wrong the discussion was over for your part and you started to bite with that big mouth in your avatar, anyhow you can?t confirm that the only difference is the link rod and jets.

Peace:)

" i?m going to assume that you did recomend me to buy stuff, maybe ten times more expensive then necesery because you are salesmen (internetoutboards),"

I dumb down and simplify answers because I look at the way a question is asked, the imagined skill level of the poster asking the question and their ability to comprehend. In your case I assumed that you would be unable to understand and carry out a carburetor modification so I answered your question in the simplest possible way. IE I answered your question correctly, I just didn't provide you with an answer you wanted. As to the salesman crack....You aren't in this country, therefore I have/had no economic incentive to tell you one thing or another. Furthermore, I almost always direct people to any other dealer rather than coming to us just to avoid the completely stupid accusation you made.

I haven't been tactless. I am blunt when called for. IE If your rude or or make sarcastic remarks you will get them right back back at you...Notice that I'm not responding to your unprovoked attack on me.

I do understand English very well and understand that so far you have not confirmed my simple question:
Is the only difference 3 jets and 1 link rod?
You have only said that the carbs can be modified, but not how, am i right?
To do such a statement you should know how to do it and what parts needed and therefore you could say YES if it?s true or NO if it?s false.

I haven't been tactless.

I belive you have, in 3 replys you comment that English is not my strong side and in one of them you shout out "Learn English!"
I belive that you have some problems with keeping up your appearance and status on this forum and cannot have your name misscredited in any way.
I have red your replys in other Tohatsu threads and understand that you really are a guru.

So i think i owe you one last sarkasm, but take it on the bright side:)
Is the only difference 3 jets and 1 link rod?
If you dont understand the question dont bother to answer "Yes, they can and it can be done inexpensively if you have basic mechanical skills"

By the way this is an excellent way for me to practise English, i think i do it rather well already, it?s coming back to me:D

Re: TOHATSU 25 four-stroke...

For the third time:

"Yes, they can and it can be done inexpensively if you have basic mechanical skills"

That is still the answer to your question. How many times would you like me to answer it? Do I need to preface it with:

The answer to your question is still yes. That's Y E S.

Also, does this look familiar to you?

"I`m trying to write in a language i dont write in so often, so dont kill me"

It wouldn't even have occurred to me to criticize your language skills if you hadn't led off with that. I assumed at one point that you simply had trouble understanding English...Now I realize your just incredibly dense.

I deeply resent your attitude towards the answers and help I tried to offer you. Your flippant sarcasm is not appreciated by me as my whole purpose was to help you. You said I was wrong, I was not. You and others like you are the fundamental reason that most knowledgeable people refuse to to participate in Internet forums.

Thanks, but i red it the first time and it?s still not the answer that i?m looking for so lets continue...

The answer to your question is still yes. That's Y E S.

Ok, now you are talking but you are confusing me a little bit, i had prefered the sentence like this:
The answer to your question is yes. That's Y E S
Notice that i removed "still" because otherwise i think you refer to the same answer for the fourth time and i dont want that to happen.
As i said before i understand that it can be done, but the question was about wich parts i need, you cant use words like "still yes" when you never answered it before ( you have only said it can be done, right?).

I do appreciate your knowledge, but i dont like you accusing me for taking the joy from you and others experts to participate in different forums, the only thing i want is to set things straight.

My intention was to get help from an expert like you and i am very thankful, the only thing i cant find out is why you are so stubborn and keep on refering to the same quote that ain?t the correct answer to my question.

I will give you the chance to answer in one word in next reply and we could say that all this is the result of my language barrier, so here it comes and no hard feelings:)

Is the only difference 3 jets and 1 link rod, YES or NO?

If you leave blank i think you dont have the answer.
