Tohatsu m40D2Z ... no buzzer

Hi All, I am new to the forum. I just bought a 2007 15ft marino with a tohatsu m40d2z and am giving a good service and fixing some ?$%^ ups. One thing I cant figure out is why I never hear the buzzer with engine off or on. Im thinking the control box and wiring needs to be overhauled and checked. pls advise. thx in advance.

shld the buzzer sound at all with ignition on and engine off? is there an easy way to check if buzzer is operating normally pls?

The buzzer on that model is for overheat indication (only). Check your owner's manual for a description of the buzzer function. You can DL a copy at http://www.tohatsu.com/tech_info/manuals.html

Thank you so much for your speedy reply ...

is there a way to check the buzzer correct operation pls ?
im thinking of unplugging the oil level sensor, however Im nearly certain that there should be an easier way.

The factory service manual has the wiring info and check procedures, and is a wise investment.

The Factory service manual is copyrighted, so not available online. You can get one from any dealer.
