I have a 2011 Tohatsu 6 HP 4 stroke short shaft.
I installed a tiny tach and took the boat out on a very hot day, the motor preformed perferctly all day, I had been on the water for about 10 hours stopping for a few hours every now and then to fish, while on way back to the ramp at WOT for about 20 mintues the oil light came on, I lowered the throttle to 3/4 about 5,000 rpm and the light went off and never came back on, I should mention that the water cooling jet never stopped pumping water. I checked the oil level at the ramp (perferct).
could this have been a result of the tach, this was the 1 st outing with the tach or could this have been the heat? the motor never seemed to change in preformance.
I have read in other post that there is a Tohatsu mechanic on this form.
Thanks for your help
