Tons of play in CC steering wheel...

I bought a used Robalo in great condition. It has a 150 Yamaha 4 stroke that purrs like a kitten. The problem is, I have a half of a turn play in the steering wheel. very noticeable at slow speeds. I am going to tear into it in the morning and try and find out whats going on with it. Anyone have any constructive ideas on a fix?

Sure, hydraulic or cable steering?

Hydraulic, I would imagine with that issue.

single motor or twins?

all v-hulls wander at idle speed with a single

When you turn the wheel is rhe motor moving?? If yes, the wander might be the issue. If motor does not turn immediately with the wheel rhen you have a steering problem.
