Tony Blair a hero?

It was a given that President Bush, with the support of the American people, had the resolve to see the Iraqi war to the end.<br /><br />But, Tony Blair really put his "nards" on the chopping block, facing strong opposition at home, to side with the coalition, doing what he perceived was best, instead of just kowtowing with the rest of the UN herd.<br /><br />Will the Brits (and the world), see him as the great leader he is, or just another Bush butt-kisser?<br /><br />Marty

Absolutely, he is. He is right up there with Winston Churchill (almost anyhow).<br />He raised the respect of his whole nation to the majority of yanks over here.<br />He is a true leader, as was Churchil and M.Thatcher.<br />I'm afraid he has an uphill battle in his own country tho. The socialists are almost in control of Parliament (IMHO, Inmates runnin the assylum).<br />But just like Bush, he does whatever he thinks is proper, and lets the chips fall where they may.<br />Thank God.

It is sad that some Brit would support the U.S. before its own people would. I.E. all of Hollywood. I've liked the guy for a long time. <br /><br />I was in Baharain last year after leaving on a six monther with the Navy. I met some of those British sailors and soldiers. They earned my respect, too. They were the first to launch after 911 and the last to leave. I was gone for a little over six months and they were at sea for almost 10. In a sub that is a long time. Tony Blair, is #1 in my book, like u said Marty, he put his nads on the line for the freedom of the Iraq people. I see a spot in the history books for this man.
