Too much Oil to VST - 2002 2.5L EFI

I have a 2002 2.5L EFI, 200HP motor and there seems to be too much oil being pumped to the VST causing the motor to smoke terribly. I checked the MAP sensor which seems to be fine. I've also noticed the engine seems to have a layer of oil all over it. No apparent leaks or discharge anywhere.
The engine recently broke down due to a failed high pressure fuel pump. Replaced that and noticed the pressure regulator was very fouled. Up until the break down the motor seemed to run perfectly. Ideas? Thanks in advance.
