too much oil

have 1997 3 cyl 2 stroke, oil injected evinrude<br />when idling it emits lots of oil somoke and especially when cold but does at normal temp after idling a short period of time,,,I think<br />the idling ratio shud be 150 to 1.. is there a <br />adjustment to these fuel/oil pumps or something<br />tks

No adjustment on the OMS pump.Your cold startup rich oil symptom is a familiar condition.Check to insure that the oil reservoir vent is working properly.If not ,since the oil hose remains primed when not running,it can build slight pressure and push oil through the OMS/VRO pump and cause this cold start condition until the excess oil is finally burned off.Another possibility is a failed seal between the oil and fuel chambers of the pump allowing oil to leak through when engine is stored between uses.Check the FAQ section of the forums and you can read up on how the pump is designed to work.
