I found a great buy on a Quicksliver 19p SS prop for $100. I now run a 17p stainless.

The recommend pitch for my boat is a 15-17 from what I see on the site.

Should I send the 19p out for a pitch change or sell it? Prop work here is $80 to $100.

Ayuh,.... I'd sell it,....

My Prop Guy tells me that he can only pound in, or out, 'bout 1 inch of pitch....

We need a description of your performance.we need your motor, boat details and present rpm and speed by gps if possible.with the 17.
In my opinion a pitch change is a compromise. Sometimes you can play with the cup and have excellent results.
I would suggest you sell it.
If the prop is used you could end up with a used possibly compromised ss prop that you've invested $200 in.
Then there's the possibility the prop shop doesn't get it right.

Have you tried it on your boat? Even if it's not entirely satisfactory, you can always keep it as a spare.

Re-pitched props are good for a nice massage if you sit in the back near the engine. The vibration is very soothing. :)

No, I haven't tried it. My boat is a 1988 Wellcraft Aruba 232 with a 350 Magnum and Alpha 1 with a 15 tooth spline. She runs great with the 17p SS now. Top speed by GPS is 32 MPH at 4000 RPM.

That's fine for us. I don't imagine this big heavy boat wants more.
