1977 25hp Johnson. I will try to explain it the best I can, with the frevent hope that you all can answer my question.<br />Motor was running so so, but I thought it was running to rich, so I adjusted the carb. And at some point after that things went south. Why the boat is idling it seems to be running so so. But the big thing that bothers me is, it will not speed up, and tack out (so to say) while in gear. Out of gear with seems fine, go to a certian point, and a little twist more more, and it really tack out. But it doesn't do it while in gear. I can take the cover off, a see it, when it clicks (I am guess timing is advanced?) in neutral it works great, shift it in gear and not won't do it. Also my motor now is not even firing, is there away to test if the powerpack is works, or getting juice form the dist. to make it work.. I have compression and gas, just no fire! Please, kids and I would love to go fishing!
