ok took out the 66 40 hp evinrude for first time on pond. well I was impressed but still have few issues .
when I was out it started to cut out then died had to run with choke 1/2 way to keep it going for a while then it cleared up for a bit then seemed to come back. I'm thinking a air leak but never seen one come and go.
once back home I was looking at the cut out switch stuff wondering if it had anything to do with it . I found out the switch under the flywheel was not working properly so after a removal and tear down and clean it's back on but I have not run since
but I'm looking for things to check/try
I do thank everyone here that has offered real help on this project of mine. It was nice to actually try it out.
