Transported motor in back of truck bed....got to destination and oil all over bed ... Took motor out cleaned of all oil....went to change plug took bottom one out and oil started pouring out of hole so put plug back in to stop oil.

Should I be worried?

Should I just open back up and let oil drain out of there? Any suggestions? Help!

Thank you

Depends on a lot of things, mostly how the engine was sitting during storage and transport.

If the engine was laying incorrectly then the oil could easily get into the cylinders.

Yes, drain the oil from the cylinder(s).

So now you need to clean everything up... Purge the cylinders of the excess oil... change the oil... then run compression tests.

Just to clarify when fhhuber says purge the cylinders of excess oil he means remove the plugs, let the oil drain and pull the starter rope until no oil comes out.

The motor was laid incorrectly. Purge oil -- you may need to drain the carb, as it may have gotten in there as well -- I've seen it. Be sure that the motor is upright, and check/refill the crankcase, using only 10w-30 FC-W rated non-synthetic oil. Do not overfill. 3/4 on the dipstick is plenty. Then crank a lot until it fires. It will smoke like crazy for a few minutes. Afterward, you may or may not want new plugs. In the future, RTFM.
