Toons exspanding?

While on the trailer in the yard I can hear the toons make a sound as if someone just hit them with something. Was wandering if this is normal and caused by the toons heating and cooling in the sun? These are the older style toons "82" half round and flat on top.

I would say "normal" as mine do the same. It is more apparent when the temps fluctuate more during Spring and Fall.

The aluminum their made of will do that, no worries, just keep an eye on the welds if it's an older toon.

That is normal and a good sign, if they are banging they hold air and have no leaks.

What you hear is the air expanding in the tube and it moves one of your baffles between the tube sections, no worries, it does sound bad though if you don't know what it is.

Yup, the sound was so loud at night that I had the dealer drill 2 small holes in the 2 outer tubes, now there is only one pop per night from the center log, I couldn't do anything about that one because there is a fuel tank in that one so it is already vented..

The center log has a hole in the bottom where the fuel tank is so the baffles in that log still pop but now I have one pop in the nights instead of 4 or 5.... Wife hated the sound and I am sure the neighbors didn't like it either.

Yea when I first heard it I thought one of the kids was out there beating on the toons! Then when I didn't see anyone around I'm thinking hmmmm. But good to know all is well! Thanks again.
