Top coat or corrosion spray over cold galv?

Hi all,

Recently sanded back and painting trailer with high zinc cold galv paint. Just wondering if anyone has knowledge or experience with possible top coats?
Datasheet mentions either Acrylic latex or chlorinated rubber top coats - recon they would apply to a boat trailer?

Other option is Fish oil or I have heard good things (advertising?) of corrosion x.

I am a little suspicious that some areas my prep won't be up to scratch so my thought was no top coat may allow this to show up sooner rather than hide a problem?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Coating over galvanizing reduces it's protection... Just use the cold galv spray for your touch ups and re apply as needed.

cool, I was tending that way - can see what's going on and fix before an issue!

Any thoughts on the fish oil or corrosion x disposable short term top coat to allow water to run off?

Yep... Already posted those thoughts.... No top coat

Unless galv is directly exposed to environment it can't do it's job.
