What effect would these have on how a 135 Opti runs? My has been "acting up" for quite some time. Intermittent problems. Of the last 10 trips the only 2 it didn't act up was with the mechanic board to try to diagnos. He had the cowl and fly wheel cover off so he could hook up all his gauges and the diagnostic computer.

Off course he said nothing wrong and I am out 200. Every trip since then=some problems. Any ideas what this may be?

Oh yea, the air filter is new.

Feather, If it runs OK with the cowling off, but not installed, you either have an exhaust leak which starves the motor for oxygen, or the engine has some heat-related issue.

You need to prove this is the issue, before a shop will help you.

Re: Top Cowl and Fly Wheel Cover?

Thanks. I will run it this weekend w/o the cowl and fly wheel cover. If it runs w/o problem I will know. I will post back on Monday w/ results.
