have a 17 ft. 74 aquasport cc with a 89 reman 110hp evinrude, 25 gal fuel tank. at wot 5500rpm boat speed is 3-38mph (speed according to fishfinder). prop is 131/4 by 15 alum. should boat have more speed or is this about right. holeshot is good.

Re: top end speed

fishfinder is not always accurate, mine isn't even close. buy or borrow a handheld gps and then check speed.

Welcome!!<br /><br />I would agree with Caldog101. A 15 seems quite small. You should be getting more than 5500 for sure. When we've rigged the 17 with cf V4's we've used 17's or 19's.

Re: top end speed

first of all, thanks for the replies from my post earlier. i will be checking top end speed this weekend with buddies gps. also emailed michigan wheel for prop analysis. they recommend 11 3/4 by 17. (seems small). anyway i have a 13 1/4 by 17 spare i'm going to try. thinking about drilling 1/8" holes in it. any thoughts???<br />'
