I figure I will start a new topic on this. Where i started it it had nothing to do with this.

I ordered a impeller rebuild kit from iboats part#18-3507. For a 64 mercury. 50hp
I noticed 2 things when i went to put it together. 1. The new impeller top is made of hard plastic and not metal like the old one, 2. The new impeller cover does not have a rubber seal in the whole where it slides down the shaft for a tight fit like the old one had. Is this suppost to be that way or did i not get something with the kit. Everything else semms to be ok. I would like to get this togehter and put it in the water. any help would be great. Thanks
Mike

Re: top impeller cover missing gasket?

It is all together!! I submerged it in the big trash can and fired it up. I had water coming out of the tell tale hole and everything seems fine. Had a little problem with the motor being stuck in forward gear but thanks to another post here on iboats i got it to work. Now time for the real test in the big tub. Thanks everyone who has helped
Mike
