Hey All, Just a quick question on Max RPM's.

I bought a used 22 foot walkaround this past spring with a 150 Yami Ox66. It would appear that my MAX RPM's at WOT is only in the 4500 or so range. I see in other discussions people talking about RPM's in the 5000 range. I don't know if the prop was factory and is therefor pitched correctly, but am I doing any damage to the engine by not letting it get to an proper Max RPM?

The engine doesn't have any issues and is running like a champ.

Re: Top RPM's on a 150 0X66

My book for a 2001 model year says 4500 to 5500 is max rpm. I can run 5400 with 2 in the boat and a 21 pitch aluminum prop. My boat is only 17'1/2. I would think your in the neighborhood at 4500 but may need to lower prop pitch to get up to the top
