I considered it, but its too expensive just to wander around looking at boats. For my wife and myself to go would have cost us $13 for parking, $36 to get in the door, $12 for transit, $10 in gas to get to the subway and return home and $25 for snacks and drinks. If we were to actually have a meal, that would be another $40 or so. Add to that, it would take 1 1/2 hrs to get there and another 1 1/2 hrs to get home. The roughly $100 or better I saved will be put to better use. Those shows cater to the larger high ticket boats that I'm not interested in.

I went with my dad and it was nice to just wander and shoot the breeze, discussing boats and gear. Got some gear for the sailing dinghy plus new bow and stern lines for the Scout (a nice royal blue to match the trim...be interesting to see if it fades as I've never tried a coloured line before...)

I was actually surprised the parking was only $13. Any other event in the area is an excuse to charge $20+

We were both disappointed in the lack of simple tinnie selection. Lots of done up fishing rigs but barely a 14 foot stripper to be found. Maybe the Sportsman show will provide more in that area.

I spent some time at the Chris Craft booth slobbering over their runabouts. Also just loved the Ranger Tug on display.

Dropped in at Honda to check out gennies and fire pumps for the cabin and that was about it.

I catch the show about every three to four years. I agree with Moody overall it can add up.
