Hello everyone. I have a Yamaha 40 MSHQ and the torque spec for the prop is 25ft/lb.
While installing a new prop when it hit the torque spec the castle nut was covering the hole for the cotter key. If I backed off it seems pretty loose. Will it hurt to over torque it that little bit to get the pin in?

Movement generates wear.
Go heavy on the torque, not light
