Re: Torque Shift Props

Torque shift's are ok as long as you can keep from bumping them on stuff. The plastic difuser ring and the cams are very prone to breaking and cracking. They're pretty good when new, but it seems they deteriorate fairly quickly. They are also hard on lower units. I know of a Mercruiser that broke the gears and clutch dog from one too many shifts. Merc's shift prop was probably the best one made, easiest to setup, but they are no longer available.
