OK Guys...
I have a '69 800 I'm rebuilding. I'm finally ready to install the inner exhaust water jacket. Although the Factory manual offers a torque sequence, it does not provide any ft/lbs, or in/lbs for the bolts.
The story I heard was.... Merc had problems with these bolts backing out. So, they added lock washers and Resi-Weld to keep 'em put.
With that said, I can understand why a torque spec isn't really needed.
OK, here's my question.....As mentioned, a torque sequence is provided. So I guess I'm left to figure out what an appropriate amount of torque should be. Anyone care to venture a guess? This is one part I hope to never have to do again.
Thanks,
Ed
