I had recently done a complete motor overhaul on this motor in the past, and used the same water jacket gasket that was on it to begin with. "This motor has been overhauled once be4, not 2 long ago so the gasket was still good." I was doing my normal weekly preventive maint. on my motor and noticed a leak on the bottom of the water jacket cover while the motor was idling with my muffs on. I whipped out my rachet set and torqued the bottom 5 bolts about 5-10 lbs tighter and it slowed the leak down to a needle thin stream of water, not really bad at all. I lent my manual out to a friend and cant get the torque specs to see if i had done the torque right to begin with so if someone would, give me a hint. I had installed this plate as if it was a head gasket on a car thinking thats the best way. One more question, can good RTV be used on this gasket to seal that small leak?
