Ayuh,..........

The Used Market is the only place to find them,....
Land & Sea is no longer selling them New,+ the parts will only be available til the current stocks are Gone.......

In other words,..... They're Out of production.......

Re: TorqueShift Prop

Land and Sea, that made the Torque Shift propellers has stopped making them as their foundry burned down.

I have bought all their remaining stock and am having remanufactured the replaceable parts.

Watch Ebay for props but check my site first so you get the right model.

If you wakeboard this is the perfect prop as it doesn't lug your engine at those lower speeds and runs in the 3000 + RPM range at all times.

This prop got a bad name due to non mechanical people misadjusting their props and not knowing how to operate them and the company wasn't too supportive to owners and poor promotion.

I've had one for 17 years and the acceleration can't be beat

Bob,.......

How's your supply of Defuser Rings,..??......

The water was Extremely low a couple of weeks ago, when I pulled my boat......
It was either do alittle dredging to get to the launch,... Or leave the boat in the water,..
Not really an option....
Unfortunately,....
The minor dings in the blades are easily repairable,....
But,....
This Defuser Ring is Trashed.........

PM me if you which,......... Bond-o.....

Re: TorqueShift Prop

I have in stock new 32" difffuser rings and about 30 new undrilled rings that I am getting drilled to fit either pitch hub. The hubs for the 26" and 32" blades are identical, only the spring tang on the blades are slightly different so their hole on the ring is a different angle. The hubs for the two sizes will have a 24 or 32 somehwere in the stamped number on the hub.

I have blade repair, will have new cams, blade bushings, all springs, probabably new guide pins, and plastic caps, urethane cushions for the cushioned hubs.

Land and Sea made 2 different propellers. The first had a 1" blade shaft and later changed to a 1.125" blade shaft. The cams for the 2 types don't interchange. The cams I will get at first will fit the 1.125" shafts.

They also made 2 different sized prop retaining pins, the later ones 1/2", earlier about 5/8".

If you buy a prop on Ebay ask the porp shaft diameter and the pitch. On my site I have a chart on which pitch to choose. Bob M

Re: TorqueShift Prop

I liked this article: http://pete.esquared.net/prop.htm

Now, if these props were so great (and I understand there are some users here who are ardent fans), why doesn't some prop-shop take up the production of them? Must be possible for a good prop shop to have them produced and sold at a profit for, say, $5-600 each? I'd buy one...

XKEJaguar - what's stopping you from producing complete props, not just parts?

Re: TorqueShift Prop

I have given much thought to producing them but don't have the time and have 2 other businesses besides. One is an internet business run much like what I am doing with the prop parts now. I had a chance to buy the blade molds but turned those down. I have a lot invested already and will probably never get it all back.

The price would probably be $1000.00 or more which would put them out of reach of many boaters. I think the last price was $999.00, worth it if you know what the prop will do.

I am a retired indistrial arts teacher and am too old to take it on. Supplying the parts will keep the existing props going and selfishly, I wanted a supply of parts for myself and friends who have these props.

Re: TorqueShift Prop

I've seen the demo video. The acceleration is amazing boat leaps on plane
like shot out of a cannon.I assume low end operation would be more ecconmical as the motor is closer to its best rpm range.

Re: TorqueShift Prop

I have had a TS prop for 17 years and swear by it. No regular ski boat can keep up on acceleration. I have a 19' V8, carry 6-8 people and gear and with that I can't open the throttle full on if starteing a single skier. They can't hang on.

Three things lead to it's demise:

1. The company didn't promote them well and were not friendly or supportive when contacted. Publicity and promotion was poor.

2. The prop ofen required some adjustments after purchase and may owners didn't have the mechanical skills to do it properly, thus word got out that blades flew off.

They would only come off if they weren't installed properly.

3. The props were sold from the company only so when a customer would take a boat to a boat repair shop, most shops wouldn't touch them and tried to sell the owner anoter type of prop.

LS sold about 5000+ props and I get 1-3 emails a day from owners who swear by them.

The prop is good up to about 300 hp. and a prop RPM of about 3000 RPM. That's prop RPM, not engine RPM.
