Looking for the bolt torque which are used to attach the transom shield to the engine. The shield in mounted to Volvo Penta AQ200D/280. Bolts go through a collar which compress o-rings on each side of the transom shield plate and fastened to the bell housing. After bolts are tightened the corners of a stainless plate are bent up to the bolt heads which prevent the bolts from loosing or backing out.

If the bolts are original and grade 5 with 3 marks on the head 20-25 ft-lbs should do it. I always flipped the rubber rings over and used Never Seize on the bolts. When every thing is tightened up use a eraser from a #2 pencil to see if the alignment is correct by going around the conical ring to transom plate gap.

I cam not open the boat info site but Thank You
I would imagine that all 6 bolts must be tightened evenly so that there are no water leaks and to keep the everything centered. This is on my houseboat so once its in the water I would have to get a crane to lift it out if any additional repairs have to be made or leaks develops, Thank You for the info.

the bolts are torqued in star sequence until the clamp plate bottoms out on the PDS. use permatex #3 on the bolts. use new donuts

make sure you use the alignment tabs on the PDS and the trans shield to verify the alignment

since the bolts are 3/8" bolts, the torque would be 28 lb-ft

use a computer and not your phone to open the boat-info site. you need to have java enabled. you need the 280-DP-C manual.
