Hello All
I have a 1998 mercruiser 3.0 that has developed an oil leak. After researching it seems I have a common problem the water pump has been dripping down onto the front timing cover which has corroded. I don't know if the cover itself is leaking or the seal because I cannot get the torsion damper off. I have a puller not the J 23523-E my manual suggests but one very similar that should work. Trouble is I cannot figure out the bolt size to attach the puller. In one forum 3/8 was mentioned but is it fine thread or course is it 3/8 or metric?
Does anyone know the correct size for the 3 bolts on the torsion damper??
This sure is frustrating.
Thanks alot.
Todd
