total tear up?mercury 850!

Engine powering 17' boat ,out of service.#3piston gone same as "4 cylinder power head as well".no idea to what to invest and keep boat going....parts motor for c$ 800 or parts for c$400? cylinder hole borring 150,gaskets100 if,ignition system still oryginal. I will post pics of progress.

thunderbott ignition is so complicated,what happened to good old contacts?anyway.motor down to "last 8 nuts/bolts"do i really need to drop mid unit down?merc manual says bout 4 bolts holding powerhead attatched and it won"t be a light task.now...couldn't get to pistons.what are a good quality piston (oversized)to go with?

ok here it is.sorrry for a wait,but i was cought up with work.dont think that i will be overhavling this motor for now.got another one with good compression for 100$c .
