I pulled up beside a family in thir shiney new 21ft Stratos with a mega HP OMC on the back a few years ago. They had run out of gas on the way back to the marina, about 1.5 miles away. We were in our old 15.5' tri-hull with an 85hp. I ask if they needed a tow. The guy's wife was astounded. "Can your little boat tow us in??"

My answer was, "Sure it could, but why don't I hand you my spare 3gal tank and you can dump enough in to get back and I'll folow you in...."

The look on her face was priceless.

I was working the water at Sea Fair (In Seattle), one of the cabin cruisers wasn't able to get his motors started so instead of having vessle assistance tow him for a price, I suggested that he drop in his dingy and tow it with that. At first he just laughed at me, but when it came ta a choice of forking over 200.00 and trying it, he tried it. He wasn't able to tow it very fast, but that 9.9 Merc was able to move that 28 foot boat.

The look on his face when he realised that he was moving it was just priceless.

Craig

I towed a new bassboat last year that lost its lower unit. It was during a tourny and the guys were very nice and hooked me up with some cash although I didn't ask for it.

I towed a guy in an expensive Baja type fast boat earlier this year and he treated me like it was my job to do this for him, and offered me nothing when I got him to his dock, not even a thankyou. I figured "screw it", I did my good deed for the day, he has to live with himself for the rest of his life...

Saw a jet ski tow in a 25 footer this summer. Gotta love it!
