I'm looking into getting a tower, and having trouble finding one that'll fit. The boat came with the glass built up for a factory tower. The front and back legs need to be about 36" apart. Most of the universal towers I've seen want about 48" apart. Does anyone know of of a universal tower that will fit that spacing? I'd like to not have to do more glass work if possible.

Try http://www.bigairwaketowers.com. I bought a tower form them about 2 years ago for me Nautique and it worked perfect. I just bought another for my new boat. Great prices, servive and top quality.

My $699 DIYwake Swoop tower is universal. My instructions said the legs should be no closer together than 39". Not sure if that would make it for you...

But I don't really see why you would you need to do glass work to install any universal tower? I understand your situation, and I certainly agree it would be nice for you to be able to utilize your factory reinforced areas. BUT...all you really need to do if you want to deviate from those locations is to get a scrap of 1/2" plywood and epoxy it on the backside of any thinner area you choose to use, to help distribute the load. Several of us have just used Liquid Nails to make it even more easy and convenient. The reinforcement board gets thru-bolted 4 times anyway...and the wood is in a location that will NEVER see a drop of water unless the boat sinks. So no glass work is needed.

Most of us who install universal towers do NOT have factory reinforcements anywhere, and the simple backing block does the trick for all 4 legs.

Tahoe makes a tower, I have one on my Q4. Check with your Tracker Marine dealer and see if that is an option, fit and finish is just right for me.

After a lot of reading, and phone calls, Barewest makes one that will fit. The factory Tahoe tower is an option, but pretty expensive.

I'm pretty biased unfortunately...

I have a Roswell tower that was a dealer option, and yes mine was a pricey option but worth every penny. Some guys swear by the universal wake towers you can snag off ebay for 1,000-1,500 but I don't feel they flow with the boat, and don't like the universal flat foot they anchor them to the boat with. They supply a big rubber gasket to try and fill the voids. My tower was built specifically for my boats contoured sides and distributes the load evenly so its not causing the fiberglass to distort underneath it. The universals may never cause damage, but I've seen enough damaged caused by them while doing research on towers that I refused to buy one.

I was going to buy a Samson tower and install it myself, but I got my boat dealer to cut me a deal on mine as an option at their cost factory installed.

G'luck and I'm sure you'll find a good one.

This is mine just for reference...just ignore me standing there as I just picked my new boat up Friday afternoon.
