Hey Peoples!!

I bet you all thought i forgot!! Nope just took me awhile to get this done.

So it works now!! A side from the carb..there was also the fact that the idle throttle was not moving as much. And how we had started it was priming the bulb till fuel came out of the carb, spaying mixed fuel into the carb as cranking and then having the idle throttle moved as far as it would go..it worked and started to pull it's own fuel and stayed running.

So now I have another problem. No water came out of the pee'r. I only let it run about 30 seconds at a time (did it twice) because of this. I wasn't wanting to blow the engine i just got running over a cooling problem.

Your motor is equipped with a thermostat just like a car. It may take a little bit for it to start peeing. My motor (v6 150) takes a few minutes for the thermostats to open allowing it to start peeing.

If your worried about it place your hand on the head while it's running. The thermostat usually opens in the 140 range. If you can keep your hand there it shouldn't be overheating.

Your tower doesn't have a thermostat I believe. When was the last time this motor ran and the last time impeller or water pump was changed?

The motor is a 79 6 cyl. As far as when it was last run, i can only speculate, It was baught last year in the fall. We didn't get it working then. The registration ran out in 07. I have no history on the boat.

With the flusher installed, water should appear at the prop hub and grates above the antiventilation plate, within 30 sec. if so, the telltale is likely clogged. Since it is likely not been used since 07 or earlier, you should rebuild the waterpump with a new impeller, wearplate and gaskets. Put in new gear oil as well. No thermostats in that inline 6.
