Hi all, I am new to this site (noooobie!) I know.

I am thinking of buying this 17' Glasstron and I have a GMC Canyon (2005) Crew Cab. Its 2wd with the tow package - offroad suspension. I am a little nervous about the part where I have to pull it out of the water on that wet concrete boat lunch. I am pretty confident with towing it, just go slow and stay in control. ;)

Anyone towing with simalar size boat and pickup think I should be ok with this setup?

This would be my 2nd boat I had a smaller bowrider 15ft before 60hp merc OB. Is this a good solid boat?

Cheers

Re: Towing a 1995 Glasstron SSV 175

I have a 2008 Chevy Colorado crew cab. Basically the same truck. It does have 4wd though. I tow a 2008 (18.5 foot) GT 185 with 4.3. Truck tows it pretty easily. I mean there are a couple of times I didn't even feel the boat back there. No problems at the ramp. Pulls the boat out of the water without any issues. 99% of the time it doesn't take much throttle at all to even start pulling the boat up and out. I have only put it in 4wd a couple of times in the past 2 years. Ramp looked slick and it was just a little insurance. Might not have really made a difference though. Point is the GT 185 is a heavier boat than the SSV 175 and your Canyon shouldn't have any problems at all towing it or pulling it out of the water.

On the second part, I can't see the SSV 175 not being a good solid boat. Glastron gives you a great boat for the price.
