Carbon, <br /> I've been towing PWCs for several years now. Your idea would work just fine. Although, two stiff cords are not absolutely nessessary. I jsut use a single half inch dock line (about 20ft.)and a "V" used for water ski rope. The "V" lets the PWC tow directly center behind your boat and with about 20ft. of rope, the PWC stays inside my wake. A rope that is too short will cause the PWC to veer constantly left and right, even when cruising straight. Trial and error will let you determin what lenght is best for you and your particular boat. Dual cords is fine, but probably overkill. Just a little more trouble than needed. You can also install and nice brass or stainless spring clasp at the end of your line for easy hook up and unhooking.

Make sure you use floating line so you won't fowl your prop, not the yellow stuff either. Get some high grade marine floating line and find the right length/position to tow the PWC. A friend of mine didn't get the set up right and stuffed and sank his PWC criusing at about 25mph. The PWC bounced through his rooster tail a few times and went right under.

I've seen the set up in Overtons. Basically it is a rope (or cable) placed INSIDE a piece of pvc pipe. (that way if you slow yor boat fast the PWC dosen't run all over your prop (it also keeps the rope off the prop).

read your PWC owners manual or call a dealer for any precautions you need to take with the ski.i know with sea doos, you must pinch off the water line on the engine or risk filling the cylinders with WATER !!!check FIRST !

there are also systoms with two steel bars hooked to the pwc and then the bars are spread out in a v and hooked to the boat! ;)
