It will depend on your 4WD or 2WD, engine, trans, drive ratio, cab/bed configuration.

It's the 17'er in your signature and avatar?

Any F150 would tow that without knowing it's back there.

yes sir.. we moved it today just to get the tires moving.. and my buddy used his newer dakota.. he said it felt just like his 2000lb landscaping trailer.. here is the picture of the truck.. not a good pic.. but all i have.. i figured it would probably need bigger suspension in the back...

This is a trick question, right? What am I missing here? Nothing light enough to be carried on a single axle trailer will be anywhere close to the towing capacity of any F150.

This is what that truck was designed for. Unless the suspension is faulty, why replace it?

Alright if I could upload pics from my phone to the net I would show you a photo of my dads 95 F150. We hitched it to my 27' IMP (9000-10000# set up) and it didn't bottom out the suspension. Moved the boat around the yard, with no trailer brakes and had no issues even stopping it down hill on gravel. His truck sits like yours, and with that set up it was squatting but not on the bump stops...

I think some people underestimate their vehicles. It's better to be that way, but any puck up truck would tow that boat without question.

Alright, that was easier than I thought... to put to rest ANY concerns you had with your suspension, take a look and decide if your 17 footer is gonna be an issue. :D

Well, let's just say most any half-ton pickup. Just based on the single-axle trailer. Anything else you'd want to know the weight of the rig and the capacity of the vehicle.

BTW, the bumper will only have to bear 5 to 7% of the weight.
