what is a good towing ratio on the vehicle, i have a 1997 chevy sub with a 350 v8 vortex. i have a 21' cc with a 150hp. i think the ratio on this one is 342? is this ok, i have heard yes and no.
Hi, Seadiva.<br /><br />You are overlooking the information that matters.<br /><br />Your vehicle has a tow rating based on how it is equipped. Your Chevy dealer can tell you what it is.<br /><br />Your boat/trailer/equipment and cargo weigh a certain amount. Weigh it on a truck scale and then add the weight on your trailer tongue to that to get your gross towed load weight.<br /><br />If the trailer, etc., weighs 75% or less of the tow rating you are in fine shape. Otherwise ask your dealer if you can add or change equipment to bring your tow rating up to a safe level.<br /><br />Good luck.
