I have a 18' pro jet tracker with a pretty big dent in the hull just before the intake. My question is: Does this boat have a double hull, and if I drill a hole in the dent to pull it out how easy will it be to weld the hole shut? There are 2 cracks 1 on either side of the intake that need welded and I'm afraid that I might catch foam on fire if it is double hulled.

Re: Tracker 18 pro Jet

for a definate answer i would email tracker and ask what the hull is like on the inside they may also be able to give you advice on the welding issue. tracker support is pretty decent. if the boat is under warranty they may have a tracker repair near you as well.

at the least i would consult with someone who repairs aluminum hulls professionally. in other words second and third opinions are very useful. tahts what i would do if i was having a similar issue. but if i am not mistaken most of the flotation foam is along the sides and in the forward areas in order to keep the bilge area free for excess water.
