I'm looking for a fish/ski. Local 1999 Nitro 175 with Merc 90 looks pretty nice, but some searching I did turned up people ripping on the Nitro quality. Looking for experienced opinions. Thx

Most people seem to rip on Tracker Marine for little things that happen on many boats. Pro fishermen seem to think that if it isn't a Champion, Triton, etc, then it isn't any good because it didn't cost as much. I'm sure there are items like fittings or hose clamps that people complained about, but I still see tons of Nitros on the water all of the time, so maybe they aren't preferred by the BassMasters tour, but they will no doubt do for any normal fisherman/boater.

I think it's similar to the Bayliner issue, where they had quality problems long ago that still haunt their reputation today.

If you do that same search on the other brands you will see the same thing. If you look for the bad you will find it in everything you search for.

Very true :(
I see quite a few Nitros around my area & know a few that own one & have never heard anyone knock them

In my opinion no one is making a bad boat right now. However Tracker is definitely an entry level boat. Also I would personally not buy a boat from BassPro ever. Their service after the sale seems to be pretty well none-existent. That's just my opinion based on many of the experiences I've seen reported on here.

I can't speak on behalf of the older Nitros, but my friend has a new Z-9 and it seems to be a very well built (as well as very expensive) boat. Time will tell just how good it really is.

I owned a Nitro Fish and Ski back in the 90's and I can tell you that it was a great boat.

I recently bought a tracker 17.5' aluminum fishing boat (Pro Team 175) and I really like it. It is light, planes quickly, no water comes in the back when you rapidly decelerate etc.

I would consider both boats to be very well built. I consider myself very picky about things, and have found little to complain about on either boat.

I would only buy one with a Mercury motor, but that is just personal opinion.

I had a 97 Nitro bass boat, nothing to complain about. If it's well cared for then it no doubt a good boat
