I replaced the narrow axle trailer that came with my Pontoon project with a Tracker brand trailer
I redid the bunk boards before putting the pontoon on the trailer
The Bunk boards mounts are not adjustable and the pontoons do not site in the middle right
How would I go about making this right ?

Have a picture? You will likely have to take it to a welder and have them repositioned.

Re: Tracker Pontoon trailer

As Bruce said if it's non adjustable then fabrication would be required

It MIGHT be easier to move the toons in or out than to rebuild the trailer tho....

I have a feeling you bought a 8' wide trailer for an 8 1/2' boat or vice versa. You aren't going to like to hear this but the easiest thing is to sell the new trailer and buy one that fits correctly.

A welder is much less expensive to hire than buying a new trailer.

New bunk mounting V brackets are available in many places on the internet, and you can probably make it better than new with them.

I have a Tracker trailer for a 21' Tracker pontoon boat that I own. There are 6 mounts on each side for a total of 12 mounts. I do welding and that looks like a LOT of work even if you had new brackets.

yes it looks like a lot of work , I do weld and not afraid of the work just need to do this right the first time
The parts are welded to the side beams 1.5 X 3 rails , I need to move them in 3/4 inch on each side to make the 73 inch center
Thinking to just cut at the top of the stand and add new V so the center is moved the correct amount
can't seam to post the picture the manage attachments not working

HMMMM if you only need to move the centers 3/4" then MAYBE you could buy Xx4 lumber and make new bunks for the side that needs pushed in

I did not think of this , but with this would it not just raise the out side a bit before it moves inward ?

Re: Tracker Pontoon trailer

not really sure I understand your question... lay a couple 2x pieces on the existing bunks and measure or test fit

Re: Tracker Pontoon trailer

Actually now that I think about it if it works just double up your 2x bunks with the new one between the bracket n the original

this would bring the bunks closer together effectively raising the boat some but without digging way deep in my brain for geometry stuff and knowing the angle of your existing bunks I can't say it it would net you exactly what you need.... You MIGHT have to go with the 4x bunk and rip them down to some thickness between the 2x and 4x

Yeah looking now I'm gonna say that doubling would be WAY too much... maybe just adding 1/4" might be all ya needed

Brain hurting... rise over run.... ummmm ugh.... crash... rebooting....... LOL

I would say that's a bit more than 3/4". Did you mean 3" to 4"?

If you don't care if the boat is centered over the trailer, you could just modify all the supports on one side.

I'd trade the trailer. To fix that it appears that you would have to move the support brackets off the frame rails and onto the cross members - which wouldn't be a good idea since the trailer wasn't built to carry the load on them. Either that or build some offset brackets. I don't think there is any easy way that you are going to solve this.

The idea to do the offset brackets is what I would like to do , looking for ideas on how to best do that
3/4 of an inch in on each side does not seam to be too much of an offset , but maybe a new cross brace at each bracket would be best

Or a diagonal brace to the existing cross members. I'd be concerned with putting a twisting load on the frame rails or welding additional braces knowing how thin the metal is that they use on those trailers.

Why do you keep saying 3/4". Isn't it way more than that?

Yea I am thinking its 6 inches out so 3 on each side. From this picture it looks like its a 8,6 trailer and a 8 foot toon.
