This boat comes from the factory with a 12V t/motor. Most owners have replaced, or want to replace, with a 24V t/motor. The boat comes factory wired with 8 gauge wiring which, according to everything I've read, is inadequate for 24V motors (specifically MinnKota @ 56 amp max draw). According to many sources, the wiring should be a minimum of 6 gauge with a 60 amp fuse. Has anyone here rewired this boat & if so, how difficult was it to run the wiring? Any thoughts would also be appreciated. Geezer1.

I should probably add that the batteries to t/motor plug distance is about 19', plus another 3' to 4' of wiring from the plug to the t/motor. Geezer1.

Re: TRACKER Pro 190 trolling motor wiring

I can offer some information about my 92 pro 16. It may be wired more or less like yours. My wiring runs from aft batteries to the trolling motor through a 3" pvc pipe buried in the blown-in foam flotation. You might be able to use the existing wires to pull the new wires through. If you can move the wires in front and see movement at the other end you may be in business. If the TM wires are bundled with other wires it may not work. My wiring was not intact due to rodent damage so I used an electrician's fish tape to pull my new wiring through. Are you near lake Fork? That's where I am.

No, I'm not. I live in South Texas, near San Antonio. I do fish Fork once a year in the McDonalds/Sealy Big Bass tournament (Sam Rayburn, as well). Fork is an awesome lake... I'd have to say it's my favorite. Regarding the t/motor wiring, I do not have the boat yet so I do not know the wiring set-up. I hope it's the same as yours (PVC tubed). Thanks for the info. Geezer.

Re: TRACKER Pro 190 trolling motor wiring

What year is it? I can tell you that my 2009 Tracker Pro 16 has the 12v TM and also has the 8 gauge wiring that runs from the battery in the transom area all the way to the front. It has an "inline" plug and then about 3 more feet to the TM plug. Mine runs along the drivers side under the floor in a wire loom, along with the wires for the bow navigation light. I know in my case it would be tuff to pull new wire thru there but not impossible. Proably be pretty time intensive and tedious but worth it.

I've just beefed up the area under my front aluminum storage bin with more support so I can put a TM battery there & use the 8 gauge wire for one bank on my on-board charger to that battery.
