Trailer and Ubolt maintenance

i have a 1991 loadrite dual axle trailer holding my 22ft boat.

some of the ubolts have minor rust on them, but I can't really tell how bad it is.
the threads on some are rusted.
other ubolts or regular bolts appear brand new.

looks like they are stainless.

how should I inspect them to determine if they need to be replaced ?

how should I make a determination if the rollers or their holders need to be replaced ?

You could try using a wire brush on the threads to remove the rust buildup. This buildup sometimes looks alot worst than it really is but if you're not sure maybe error on the side of caution and replace them.

As for the rollers, check to see if they used removable sleeves in the rollers and if they are worn. Check for cracks in the rollers. Don't wait untill one fails and the holder does alot of damage to your hull.

Use a dial indicator to measure the blot/Ubolt thickness.
Clean off the paint measure them and then repaint them. That way you have a record if they start to get smaller.
As for the rust on the threads, its not a real problem unless it gets up into the nut then you may need to replace the bolt.

A little rust is normal. But alot can cause a problem. I guess you really have to judge it for yourself.
