Re: trailer at night

no power to wire harness. blown fuse, broken wire.
Broken wires on trailer, bad bulbs, ineffective grounds, corrosion on connections.

Most likely a bad ground, but there are a lot of possibles.

If All bulbs, fuses and wires are solid. Then I would say the ground is faulty. Some vehicles that have factory trailer towing options have seperate fuses for the trailers lights.

It's not just a problem at night either. Your turn signals probably aren't working either.

Is the trailer wiring plugged into the connection on the tow vehicle? If so, a wiring tester/probe - the type with an alligator clip at one end of the cord and a pointed probe with a light built in at the other end - is great for helping pinpoint the problem.

Re: trailer at night

Not much information was given....other than my trailer light don't work when I turn on my headlights. Do the brake and turn signals work? If the tow vehicle is a Ford SUV/F150, there is a fuse in the fuse box under the hood which powers only the trailer marker lights.

Electrical current is not running through the filaments of the light bulbs on the trailer, therefore no light emits from them. :D
