Anyone know where I can find a set of trailer plans for a boat this size?

Re: Trailer build help

You could research on the net or get a tape measure and start looking at other trailers. There is really not to much to a trailer and for the effort and money I would look to buy a used one. Modify a used one for your boat may be cheaper and easier in the long run.

D, not to slap your hand, but what size boat. is it a 20' or 28'. can't tell anything from the picture, other than it is a nice boat. what's the weight. salt water of fresh water. i agree a used trailer is the place to start, galv. or aluminum.

Re: Trailer build help

Sorry Admin, I wrote a whole article last night giving all the details. Took my time spell checking and proof reading. I was even witty at times. Then I previewed it, and promptly, and accidentally deleted it.:%

What you read in my earlier submission was the product of frustration, not intent.

She is 24 feet, weight is a total guess but I am thinking 4k to 6k range? , fresh water.
I found a used dual axle trailer that my boat had in fact ridden on one time. But the owner really liked that trailer judging from what he wanted for it. I agree a used trailer would be the way to go. I have put some feelers out in the past and had not found one. We have some marine salvage places around but I have yet to find what I need. I may need to look in Florida. I bet there are a ton of them down there. The ones I have looked at in the past are either one way or the other; Fancy new and expensive or broken down and expensive. I think something about trailers in this weight class makes sellers see dollar signs.

I would also suggest a used trailer. I know our shop buys used and new trailers (on top of being a distributor of new), from all sorts of places like boat manufactures that are brand new, but have a great price tag because they will need to be retro fitted n (they were custom trailers like eagles). So I would just do some looking around and you might be surprised at what you may stumble on.

we paid 3,500 dollars, for an aluminum, trandem axle, hydrolic brakes both axles, this summer. it was for our Chris Craft 230. it was over kill as it is rated for a much bigger boat. the Ft. Myer- Naples and Miami- Ft. Laud. areas. are full or excellant used trailers. also check ebay.
