interested in seeing some pix during the building process. are you bolting these together or welding? I see some on amazon.com for about $50 a pair -http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000A87848/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A1729W3053T57N How much did you spend on building yours?

Well I didn't have to make these, their one of the reasons I bought this boat earlier this year is because of the trailer it was sitting on. Having planned on buying a toon for many years I watched then going on and off at the launch over time and noticed that one brand of trailer just didnt have issues. Bear Trailers. Each bracket takes around 44 inches of 2 x 3/8 flat bar steel and the cross brace is welded into place so a 20 foot piece from any steel supply company will work and its been a long time since I have bought any so I cant guess on the price but it isn't bad. the brackets are clamped on the the trailer frame rails and I have those types of clamp made at a local shop 8 clamps ran 30.00 and then two CCA 2 x 4 x 12 and bunk carpet I would estimate 75.00 to100.00 should would cover the costs and that's for all 4. This is of course what's on my trailer and some of the dimensions may need to be changed to fit on others but its a base to start from. I looked at your link and while I don't like to say things about other products those post type rollers just plain do not work well. That type is on a lot of trailers and if their is any wind or your not lined up just right it takes several try's to load and I have heard of logs being dented from them. The full length board types do work as long as the front of the boat is even close, in a good wind I have had the boat off as much as 20 degrees and it still loaded fine , first try. I load and unload by my self, while I often have guests I like them to stay out of the way and the admirals job is to hold my beer

Those look good!! My trailer came w/ them but they don't stick up as high as yours. Only took me two yrs to figure out to have the wife back the tlr in so the guides are still above the water. If the winds blowing(it usually is!!) I just come in at whatever angle the wind forces me to, get the guides between the 'toons, use the motor and steering to straighten up w/ the bunks and have the wife back the tlr under the boat while I keep it straight w/ the motor. Made loading a whole lot simpler!!

When the toon is on the trailer the 2 x 4 are on the center line in the toons, with a 3 inch gap spacing.
