I broke my trailer jack. it rusted and i tried to turn it to hard and it broke. I want to buy a new one but mine isnt bolted to the trailer. the mount is welded to the trailer with a C clip holding the jack on the swivel. do they make jacks that work with this type of design or am i going to have to cut and drill to fit one of the other types?

Re: Trailer jack problem

you could try keeping the old one on, and puting a new jack in a different spot on the other side.
they just bolt on with 4 bolts that wrap around the square beam.

You may be able to drill through the old backing plate if looks is an issue, to mount the new one. If not, I would not attempt to remove the old welded-on plate. That is the highest stress area of the trailer.

Check at Harbor Freight. The last one I got there had the C clip type connection. Wouldn't hurt to measure the diameter of your existing one to make sure the replacement is the same, and also look at the latching hardware to make sure it would line up.
