Trailer Lock Lever Difficult to Remove

Hi, I put trailer brakes on the boat a few weekends ago. They work really good. The problem is the lock lever (the part you lock so the tounge is secured to the ball) is really difficult to remove. I have to lightly hit it with a hammer to get it to release. Is there someway to adjust it or should I grease it somewhere? The instructions that came with it say it universal for a 1 7/8, 2 or 50mm.

The new one really grips the ball a lot better. Its not nearly as noisy when pulling the boat but if I ever forget a large socket or hammer I will have some issues getting the boat off the truck.

Thanks,
Mitchell

Most of them are adjustable - nut on the bottom side. Should have one if they claim 1 7/8 and 2" compatability

Is it brand new? Probably needs to either be loosened up and/or lubricated.

Loosen it just so there's not a lot of slop in it...then any kind of grease will do...
