I need do do some paint work on my '89 Eagle trailer. I called Eagle & they want the serial number off the trailer to get the paint code. Well. the serial number is worn off so I'm out of luck. I called a local paint suppier & they need a paint sample so they can scan it. Well, they want a sample the size of my hand. Short of towing the trailer to them, any ideas of what I can do to get the code or a close match of the paint? Thanx.

Do you have paperwork (title, MSO, registration) with the serial number?

I would check for trailers the same year and see if you can find the number off of it. If not I think Bond-o has the right idea unless you want it the exact color. It worked for my last boat trailer.

I have an Eagle too, but a '92. I had to do the old trial and error to get something close, due to the fact the 20 year old paint is so faded, there is no way the factory color would match it now, anyway. The local auto parts store or Ace hardware is where I started. The blue paint I found after 3rd try is very close, close enough anyway.

I did the same thing with my trailer. I paid $250 to have the trailer bead blasted then I painted it with Rustoleum Oxide paint sanded it just to scuff it up them painted it with Rustoleum Black. I even made new decals for the trailer. It looks damn good with the new paint and LED lights.
