My boat clearly is was not made for the trailer its on. With out blocks pushing the back of the trailer up, the stern on the boat is resting on the ground.

The crank on the trailer can be adjusted, either high or low. Would changing the height make the boat level on the trailer and distribute the weight evenly?

Re: Trailer problems

My assumption is that you have negative tongue weight (stern heavy) by your description. DO NOT tow it like this. The "crank" (winch) can be moved up and down which may help a little, but the winch is connected to a stand that should move horizontally. If so, move your winch stand forward to pull weight forward. You should have around 10% of your gross trailer weight on the tongue (boat+trailer=2000lbs. / tongue weight=200lbs.). If the boat is not close to the end of the trailer after moving it, you either have the wrong trailer, water saturation, or both. Really could use some photos.
