some good info on trailer tires as far as longevity,maintence,safety etc. difference between trailer and passanger car/truck tires

CALLED THERE 1-800 NUMBER AND ASKED IF THEY WERE MADE HERE IN THE STATES OR OVER SEAS THEY SAID THAT THE USA TRAIL TIRES ARE MADE HERE IN THE STATES ALL OTHERS MADE IN CHINA SO I GUESS I WILL BE LOOKING AT THE USA TRAIL SERIES

It is good info, but one wonders if it is a bit biased since their goal is to sell trailer tires?? All of my trailers are on all position or LT tires, quit having trouble with them when I quit useing ST tires. This is just my experience, and I imagine that a boat trailer tire lives an easy life compared to what my trailers do.

i imagine it is a little biased but good info.but i guess all my years in the rv biz out west in extreme heat conditions makes me a little biased alsoi admit ive run tires on utility trailers and trash trailers here in tn that know way i could have run out in vegas and the mojave desert.they just would have come apart. i guess it all comes down to what kind of $$$$ your willing to spend and what your comfortable with. and i dont think a boat trailer has an easy life they do more sittin than ridin and thats just as hard on them.

Guy74 You might not want to travel in Canada because the Ministry of Transport says that ALL recreatioinal trailers IE boat,RV and utility etc MUST be have the ST type tires on them. You would be looking at a fine if caught. I personaly don't understand why you can't use LT tiress on them as I am a retired mechanic feel the same way you do but I am only one person and can't/don't want to buck the ministry as they tend to hold grudges. They will tend to pull you over everytime you go out. I think they mught flag your plate so they are looking for you ALL the time!

I don't think they will get the chance to hassle me, lol, but thanks for watching out for me!! Most of my trailers are livestock or heavy equipment type trailers, on LT tires or high ply all positions( Load range G and higher). My 5th wheel camper's data plate specs the tires as P215/75-15, so even the manufacturer didn't spec ST tires for it.

i understand where you guys are coming from with the lt truck tires.only downside on the truck tires i have seen big triple axle 5th wheels in parking lots make a hard turn almost like u-turn roll the tires right off the bead of the rim im sure this is rare but ive seen it maybe 4-5 times.im sure st has a stronger sidewall.but most of the newer brands i was working on went to dual wheels and just tandem axles instead of triples.
