Trailer Towing Capacity

Thoughts on towing Tractor, have 2 options

Trailer, 10 Ton Tag with electric brakes and pintle hitch , plate list 10K pounds max, and trailer weight in 5500 pounds

Tractor, M9540 no loader, weight list 5095 to 6175. Have methanol in rear tires

1997 International 466DT single axle dump with juice brakes (26K limit)

2025 Ram diesel with HO motor, class 5 hitch (20K limit but not with pintle)

So have maybe 11,675 with trailer and tractor distributed between trailer and truck

I'm fuzzy on the new rams but what's your limiting tongue weight on the class V? Like 2000lbs or so? You should be way under payload even on a 3/4 ton unless you have a lot of... stuff... in the truck

As long as you're loaded to 10% on the tongue I'd say you'd be fine with either.

My thought also, the dump has more than enough tongue capacity. The class 5 list around 2700

Swap pintle on trailer for 2-5/16" ball

Hook up ram, toss trailer spare into truck bed

I have a ring on the 10 Ton Tag so have to use Pintle
Have one of these to go into receiver
